Ernest William Macauley was born in Belfast, Ireland on July 21st, 1922. He came to Canada at the age of three years old. The family settled in the Dimsdale area in 1926. He went to the Wapiti School and held several jobs with neighbours until he joined the Army in the spring of 1942. Ernest married Edith in 1946 when he returned from the war. They bought land SE from Clubines and went on to have eight children. Ernest passed away on December 19th, 2002 in Wembley, AB at the age of 80 years old. He is buried in Lake Saskatoon Cemetery.
