What Went Bump In the Night?

“The Weekly Lineup” of July 20, 1939 turned a simple story of a car stuck in the mud on “the boulevard” (102 St.) during the night into a mini-detective story. The “prolonged blood-curdling howl” turned out to be a short circuit in the horn of the car, not from the nearby home of recent newlyweds.
