Remembrance Day

There were many article to choose from this week to highlight Remembrance Day, but I kept thinking about something I had noticed when I was entering data for the “Family Names in Newspaper Articles” database.

It is the list of mentions in the newspaper about a young man from Bezanson – but without even looking up the articles I found it as poignant as anything else to be found, about the meaning and significance of November 11.

If your Canadian ancestor fought in WWI you can find some of his military papers on-line at the Library and Archives of Canada website. We believe we found Cecil’s enlistment paper –

The ultimate sacrifice.
