June is still the most popular month to get married, with about 17% of couples choosing that month.  A startling US statistic is that the average wedding budget in 2011 was $28 427 – this did include a $5 500 engagement ring but not the honeymoon!  (TheKnot.com)

This column also gives a list of provisions for a one week camping trip for five people.  I compared it with the list I used for camping trips and find this one sadly lacking.  No chips, no steak, no beer, Coke, or other necessary beverages!  It also looks to me like the poor mother will spend as much time cooking on a camping trip as she would have at home, but without the conveniences.  We certainly have it better today.
