The Dreaded Curfew ~ This Week in History

I doubt that teenagers today have ever experienced a town-mandated curfew time. A curfew had been imposed several years earlier that this resurrection, and according to one councilor, didn’t work then. Enforcement is always a problem. And my experience of curfews from many years ago, was that the only kids who paid attention to it weren’t the ones it was aimed at in the first place. I remember one time racing home on my bike after going to the 7 pm movie and a pop after with my friends. I was so concerned about getting home before the siren rang that I forgot about a broken sidewalk block, hit it, got thrown off my bike and got scraped up pretty badly, plus bent my bike wheel.
