Poirier, Arthur

Arthur Poirier moved to Chinook Valley with his parents and siblings in the spring of 1930. He was 10 years old.

Arthur joined the Army with the Calgary Tankers in 1940. He was stationed in Seafurt England and was sent to France to join the fight there. He was taken by the Germans and was a prisoner of war for four years. At wars end he was shipped back to England and then home.

While in England Arthur met and married Marjorie Presswell. They were married on April 2, 1942 in Fernhurst, England. Marjorie eventually came to Canada to be with her husband. They had three children.

Arthur settled in Kamloops, BC and passed away on April 11, 2001.
