David Walter Matthies was born on August 14th, 1937 in Valhalla Centre. David’s family lived in the Valhalla area and he attended the Royal Banner School; it is believed that the family moved to the west coast. His father was Jacob. David is listed as having served in World War II. David passed away on May 28th, 1998 in Vancouver, BC and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
