William “Bill” Lunn was born in Muir, MB on September 26th, 1922. Bill enlisted in the RCAF and was stationed in various locations in Canada. He was a very proud veteran and participated in Remembrance Day Ceremonies and teaching students in Eaglesham about building trenches. In 1946 he purchased a farm through the VLA in Austin, MB. He married Grace Livingstone in 1948 and they went on to have eight children. His brother Harvey had filed on a homestead on the Lassiter Project east Codesa but decided against moving there, Bill expressed interest in taking it over. Government policy at the time did not allow a transfer of the land so he entered a draw for one; in 1950 he won the draw for W 21-78-1-W6. Bill decided to sell his land in Manitoba and move to the Peace Country. Bill and his family farmed for many years in that area until they moved in 1979 to Belloy Corner. He was very active in sports throughout the years and played for the Spirit River Rangers in 1955-1956. Bill also was active in many organizations. Bill was heavily involved in the building of the ski hill in the Belloy area and the senior housing complex in Spirit River. Bill passed away on April 11th, 2015 at the age of 92. He is buried in Pleasant Heights Cemetery in Eaglesham, AB
