Fred B. Loewen was born on July 13, 1912 in Swalwell, Ab. As a young man he moved to Crooked Creek, Ab. in the 1930s to homestead and work in the sawmills.
In 1943 he joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. Fred served in active duty and was discharged on March 6, 1946.
Fred passed away on November 22, 1996 at home and is interred at Debolt Community Cemetery.
