Levins, Earl Alexander

Earl Alexander Levins was born in Gilbert Plains, Mb. on June 3, 1914. He moved to Spirit River, Ab. in 1937 with his brother Harold. He worked as a farm hand and mechanic.

Earl married Banna Jarvis on November 12, 1941. Earl enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII, serving 3 ½  years, 2 ½  years of those overseas.

After the war Earl homesteaded northwest of Spirit River, Ab., clearing the land with a small Ford tractor. As well as farming, Earl worked as a mechanic and owned and operated a portable sawmill. The last 5 years before Earl retired he worked as a mechanic for Dave Ross Equipment and rented out the farm land.

Earl passed away July 25, 1995 and is interred at the Spirit River Cemetery.
