Jesse Daniel George (Dan) Lambright was the oldest of four boys, he was born on May 10th, 1917 in Dillion, Montana, USA. His three brothers were born in Elk Point; Robert, Frank and Roy. The family lived on a small farm one mile from town. They later sold the farm and opened a store in town. Dan, Robert and Frank all served in World War II (Frank served overseas for a short period of time). Dan enlisted in February of 1943 was a gunner in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war, the boys all returned home. There was interest in the Lassiter Project (created to encourage farming in the Peace River Country after World War II). Don, Robert and Frank applied for VLA units’ side by side. Dan went on to marry Louise Cora Dapping from Cherhill, AB, they had two children. Dan passed away on May 17th, 2017 at the age of 100 years. He is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge, AB.
