Benjamin Jones was born October 2nd, 1919 in Bangor, SK. He was raised in the Welsh community of Lewellyn, SK. He served in the RCAF as a Flight Sergeant (regiment number: R75435) during World War II. After he served, he started his own general store in Bangor and Saskatoon. He was then employed with the Swift Canadian Company for 24 years. After which he started his business in Grande Prairie in 1973 – Northland Field and Farm Supply. He lived in Grande Prairie for 22 years, retiring in 1980. He passed away on January 21st, 1995 at his home in Grande Prairie. He is buried in the city of Grande Prairie Cemetery. He was married to Marion Jones who passed away in 2005 in Grande Prairie.
