Earl Jobson was born at Davidson, SK on April 15, 1912 and passed away at the Valleyview Hospital in Valleyview, AB on December 2nd, 1988 at the age of 76. He moved to the Grande Prairie area at age 22 and in 1939 married Martha Jantz. He then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served until the end of the war. In October of 1946, moved across the Smoky to the Crooked Creek area with four children. They had no electric power and heating was done with fire wood. They would grow their own food. Earl would haul and cut logs with horses in lumber camps in the winter. He would also work for seismic line cutting, some mechanical work throughout the district as well as electric wiring for friends and radio repair. In about 1962 or ’63 the family moved to a home with power, closer to Ridgevalley School.
