Reggie Greentree was born after 1910 in Alberta. His father was from England, immigrating to Canada in the early 1890s. His mother grew up in Ancaster, ON. Her mother was Louise Robarts. Reggie was one of 10 children, 3 girls and 7 boys. In 1905 Reggie’s father filed and proved up some land (after squatting on it since 1901). Eventually he owned a large ranch with 1000 cattle and numerous horses, in the area which is Drumheller today. His mother passed away in 1925. Two years later, his father and two brothers (Richard and Harry (presumably a brother) moved to the Peace Country. Reggie was attending school back in Hardisty with his sister Rita Bowen. In 1928, Reggie came north, and completed his education at school in Wembley. Moving to Sudbury ON, Reggie worked in the mines. In 1940 he married, and shortly afterwards his joined the Army and was stationed overseas. Tragically, he was killed in Belgium in 1945.
