Graham, Walter

Born in 1900, Walter was the second oldest of 6 children of Delancey Graham in Nova Scotia. The children were:  Abner (who served in WW I), Walter, Betty (married to Ernie Brewer), Wilfred, Herbert, and Agnes.  After Walter’s mother died, Delancey decided to move from Nova Scotia to Alberta with his brother Bill in 1910.  Delancey and his family (and Bill and his wife Rose) settled in Kleskun Hill, and later homesteaded in the Fitzsimmons area.   In WW II, Walter served in the Veteran’s Guard which was a defence force in case of German or Japanese attacks on Canadian soil.  After the war Walter married Sophie Lappenbush.  He passed away on November 14, 1953, and was buried in the Teepee Creek Cemetery.
