William Glaubitz was born in 1925. At age 5, he moved from Crestwin SK to Crooked Creek AB with his mother, Annie Glaubitz, and older brother Herbert, in their Model T Ford. Annie filed on a homestead (NE24-71-26-W5) where the boys grew up. To provide for her family, Annie worked two jobs for another farmer- diving binder and cooking, as well as managing her own farm. She built a house by herself in the 1940s. Both Bill and Herbert served their country in WW II. Bill eventually had his own family of children: Gary, Rod, Arnold, Murray, Camie, Brenda, Cindy, and Phillip. Bill’s mother also raised these grandchildren. Annie passed away in 1963 at age 57. Bill died in 1967.*
