Edith Giesbrecht, daughter of Abe Giesbrecht and Marie/Mary Isaak, was the oldest daughter of 5 siblings: Edith, Jennifer, Eva, Peter, and Joe. Raised on a homestead in Willowvale, Edith and her family had a hard life like so many others at the time. Edith served in WW II. On February 7, 1968 she married Dennis Glenn (son of Henry Hakes and Etta Welch, and adopted by Jim Glenn) in Sexsmith. After their Marriage the couple worked on several farms in the Sexsmith area before moving and settling in the Mayerthorpe AB area. They had 3 children: Iona, Brenda, and Patrick. Raising ponies kept Edith and Dennis very busy over the years, as they also brought them to various fairs for pony chariot ride.
