Erwin and four of his siblings (William, Arnold, Marion and Wilbert) were born in Cayley AB (south of Calgary). William (Bill) and Erwin were born between 1906 and 1911. Their parents were Wesley and Lily (Richardson) who had come from Ontario, and started a homestead. In 1922 the family moved to Coronation where the youngest sister, Joan, was born. Two years later they moved to Vegreville, and then to Bezanson in 1928. They stayed in Bezanson until 1941, and then settled on a homestead in Goodwin. During WW II Erwin and his older brother, Bill, joined the Army. Their younger brother, Wilbert, served in the Navy. After the war, Erwin lived in Goodwin and Bezanson. His mother died in Bezanson in 1956, and his father died in 1965 in Ontario. Erwin later lived in Grande Prairie. He passed away before 1999 (before his brother Arnold).
