Douglas Farnsworth was the 6th of 10 children of Joe and Matilda (Grammage) Farnsworth. He was born in 1919 in the La Glace district. Both Douglas and his next oldest brother, Thomas, joined the forces during WW II. Taking their basic training in Grande Prairie, Douglas served in the Army, while Thomas was in the Air Force. Douglas died on August 19, 1981 in La Glace, at age 61.
