Thomas Eastman was born on March 19, 1915, to parents Kenneth and Elizabeth, in Denholm, SK. The family moved to Albright AB where Thomas took his schooling. Becoming a farmer near Beaverlodge, Thomas was married to Vera and they had two boys: Richard and Martin. Thomas enlisted in WW II in Grande Prairie AB on June 23, 1941 at age 26. Serving overseas, Thomas was part of Operation Spring in the Battle of Verrieres Ridge in Normandy. On August 8, 1944 he died in action when bombed by German fighters. He was buried at the Canadian War Cemetery in Bretteville-Sur-Laize Calvados, France.
