Andy was born in Perthshire, Scotland on January 28, 1875. He immigrated to Canada in 1902, and eventually settled in the Halcourt district in 1911 (10-71-11-W6 and 17-71-10-W6). According to his service file, Andy was granted permission to marry Hannah Ross Mackenzie, who served as a nurse during the war, in June of 1918. They returned to Andy’s homestead after the war. Andy died on September 11, 1942.
