Graham, Abner

Abner was born in Centreville, Nova Scotia on October 29, 1887 to Delancey R. Graham. He enlisted in the Canadian army in January of 1916; his brother Walter also served in the Canadian Army. In April of 1917 Abner received a gunshot wound in his left shoulder, and in September of 1918 he received shrapnel wounds to his back and left him. He was awarded the military medal in 1918. After the war, Abner and his wife Charlotta “Lottie” May Melanson settled in the Kleskun/Bad Heart area (26-73-3-W6). Abner died in Grande Prairie on January 11, 1958 and was buried in the Teepee Creek cemetery.
