John was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1884. He was living in Port Arthur, Ontario at the time of his enlistment in June of 1917. He served in Scotland and England during the war. In 1919, John filed on homesteads at SE 19-71-4-W6 and NW 20-71-4-W6. John died on December 25, 1923.
