Robert was born in Windsor Mills, Quebec on December 20, 1891. He worked his way west and eventually filed on 20-70-11-W6. Bob enlisted in January of 1915 and in April of that year was discharged ‘by purchase’ in Calgary. Three years later, in the summer of 1918, he was drafted. Bob arrived in England in October of 1918 and served with the 21st Reserve Battalion. He returned to Canada in 1919, at which time he sold his former homestead and settled instead on his Soldier’s Grant at 15-70-11-W6, where he built his cabin. On October 11, 1932, Bob married Ethel Dixon; the couple had one son. Bob died on January 4, 1952.
