Fitton, Richard Chadwick

Richard was born in Lancashire, England on September 12, 1872. It is unknown when he first came to Canada, but he and his wife Margaret were living in Fredericton, New Brunswick at the time of his enlistment in the Canadian Army in September of 1914. From May of 1916 until April of 1917, Richard was on duty in Canada. Richard and Margaret came to the South Peace in 1917 and filed on SW 18-79-4-W6; the following year, they filed on the western half of 7-79-4-W6. Margaret died in 1933. A year or two later, Richard remarried. Shortly after the wedding, he and his wife moved to Victoria. They returned to Spirit River in 1940. Richard died on June 10, 1946.
