George was born in Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland in 1896. He enlisted in the 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders in March of 1915 and served in the army until 1919. George was gassed in France and suffered poor health for years as a result. He and his wife Mary Jane had eight children. George died on April 29, 1941 and was buried in the Lake Saskatoon Cemetery.
