Administrative history / Biographical sketch
Joseph was born ca. 1907 to Thomas Leathem and his wife, likely while they were living in Manitoba. The family settled in the South Peace in 1917. Joseph married Edith Mae Grearson in Edmonton on November 19, 1946. They had four children: Lucille, Dianne, Edith, and William. Joseph died in Edmonton on May 1, 1989.
Custodial history
This fonds was part of a larger accession transferred from the Sexsmith and District Museum to the South Peace Regional Archives in 2017.
Scope and content
This fonds contains textual materials related to Joseph Leathem, including a booklet of thresher’s lien notes (1945-1946) and a collection of receipts from the C. J. Leonard general store in Sexsmith (1953).
