Administrative history / Biographical sketch

The DeBolt Beautification Society formed in 1997 to enhance and beautify the Hamlet of DeBolt. Their activities included cleaning up the DeBolt Creek Banks and vacant lots, planting trees, preparing flower beds and hanging baskets, creating hiking trails and a park with playground equipment, and applying for funding. The society created the Winnie Moore Park which opened on July 21, 2000. The DeBolt Beautification Society was a member of Communities in Bloom, earning the town three Blooms. The society received funding from grants as well as an annual garage sale and raffles. In 2008 the Society dissolved, having met most of their goals.
