The organization needed to raise funds and found some success in hosting curling bonspiels. The Local also sent members to conventions and they in turn would arrive home with reports on all that was learned. The Local was active and took part in picketing, boycotting and letter writing campagins to have their voices heard. As membership declined the club disbanded in 1991.
