Administrative history / Biographical sketch

Over the years, various studies have been carried out and publications written about the communities and resources within the boundaries of the M.D. of Greenview. These publications were collected by the various departments at the M.D. and may include information on the following areas: Town of Fox Creek, Town of Grande Cache, Town of Valleyview, Hamlet of Little Smoky located between Valleyview and Fox Creek, Hamlet of Ridgevalley located just off Hwy #43, 42 kms west of Valleyview, Hamlet of DeBolt located on Hwy #43, 50 kms west of Valleyview, Hamlet of Landry Heights located 10 kms south of Grande Prairie, off Hwy 666, and the Hamlet of Grovedale: located 20 kms south of Grande Prairie on Hwy 666.

Custodial history

The records were transferred to South Peace Regional Archives from the Municipal District of Greenview in 2006-2007.

The sous-fonds consists of publications by the Government of Alberta, the municipal governments of Greenview and Valleyview, the Peace River Planning Commission, the South Peace Regional Planning Commission and various engineering firms.

It analyses user demand and the infrastructure which gives access to the lakes and suggests policies and recommendations.

They cover the physical areas of the Berland River, the Wapiti River, Musreau Lake, Iosegun Lake, and Smoke Lake, Grovedale, Sturgeon Lake, Puswaskau.
