A Five Week Cold Snap

As we bask in unseasonably warm temperatures (after having a nasty spell in December which ran into January) we can appreciate the article which appeared on January 25, 1935.  I think this is a case where having the temperature in Celsius is an advantage!  I think most of us know that -40 C = -40 F; conversions for the two lowest temperatures mentioned in the article are -55 F = -48 C, and -58 F = -50 C.  I do realize that the younger generations don’t deal with this at all, having been raised using the Celsius measurement, and don’t go around like I do continually confused about the temperatures!
