Other than area news and who was in or passed through Grande Prairie there was apparently little of note going on this week in 1914! When there was little village news, the paper used items received by telegraph to fill up the front page. Wry humor is a good approach to these odd tidbits from the U.S. which appeared in the March 3, 1914 paper. One startling headline reads “Men Want Corsets Prohibited”. It’s not hard to imagine homesteaders and villagers shaking their heads at the antics far to the south.
