Judging by the amount of information on the internet about how to get rid of crows and magpies, they are still as aggravating now as they were years ago.  In 1926 and 1939 a bounty of ten cents per bird or pair of feet was offered as incentive to do away with as many as possible.  It couldn’t have worked all that well, since there are problems with them to this day!
