This ad from 1935 introducing Kellogg’s Rice Krispies claims that the cereal has been responsible for shorter hours for Mother, created a demand for tremendous quantities of milk, and employed thousands.  Pretty extravagant statements to make about a breakfast cereal!

In light of the fact that Kellogg’s closed its last Canadian plant in December 2014, and are now importing cereal (not sure where from; I phoned their information line and they either didn’t know or wouldn’t say), this Kellogg’s ad extolling the benefits of their new cereal to Canada makes us realize how much things have changed over the years.
