Administrative history / Biographical sketch
James Francis Reaume was born in Tilsbury, Ontario in 1894, moving to Innisfail, Alberta with family in 1903 and to Trochu, Alberta in 1905. James married Myrtle Felch of Colfax, Washington in 1917 and they began homesteading in the Hythe area in 1919. The Reaume family became well known as farmers and cattle ranchers in Hythe and the Peace region. Myrtle and James had 11 children including Ramon, George, John, David, Leon, Irene (McCallister), Dorothy (Sudnik), Leda (Chatter), Elaine (Moody), Olive (Clarke), and Juanita (Knight).
