Administrative history / Biographical sketch
The Edson Trail Historical Society was formed in 2000 as a collaborative effort to promote the history of the Edson Trail through a documentary film. With the help of the production company Vicom Media, the Society completed the documentary “The Edson Trail to Grande Prairie: One More Mile” around 2005. The Society continues to be active today, with its main focus being on maintaining the Edson Trail Cabin.
Custodial history
The records were originally held by Vicom Media Productions and were donated to the the Provincial Archives of Alberta by the producer upon the company’s bankruptcy. Through the Edson Trail Historical Society the records were later transferred to the South Peace Regional Archives, closer to their geographical context.

This fonds includes production records, correspondences, raw footage, and masters all related to the film “The Edson Trail to Grande Prairie: One More Mile”; produced by the Edson Trail Historical Society and Vicom Media Productions.
