Douglas Edwin McClure was born on July 27th, 1923 in Edmonton, AB. Douglas came with his mother to Buffalo Lakes; he attended Chatham School and helped on the farm before joining the Air Force. When he returned from World War II he married Fay Allen of Edmonton, AB. He continued to farm in the area. In the early 1950s they moved to Whatley, BC. Douglas was employed as a guard at the penitentiary in New Westminster for a number of years. He passed away on April 13th, 1993 at the age of 69 in Chilliwack, BC. He is buried in Chilliwack Cemeteries.
