Administrative history / Biographical sketch
The Grande Prairie Regional Association of Volunteer Organizations (GPRAVO) was originally established in 1969 as the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau and was incorporated in 1983. GPRAVO was a registered charity and is governed by a Board of Directors. The organization provided advisory, resource, and support services for community organizations in the city of Grande Prairie and the surrounding area. The GPRAVO promoted and supported volunteerism within the community by providing support and training for volunteers in the non-profit sector, and through celebrations such as National Volunteer Day and International Volunteer Day. The GPRAVO was governed by a Board of Directors made up of community members. The organization dissolved in 2025.
Custodial history
These records were donated to the Archives by Patricia Schneider, editor and writer of the newsletter, in 2016.

This fonds consists of newsletters written and edited by Patricia Schneider for the Volunteer Services Bureau. The newsletters include stories, poems, news, and upcoming volunteer opportunities.
