Johnson, Joseph

Joseph Johnson was born January 19th, 1910 in Ste. Marie Salome, Que. When he was 12 his family moved to Ferland, SK. When Jos (Joseph) was 20, he and his family moved to the Peace River region, near Donnelly, AB. In 1939, the war began. In 1942, Joseph was drafted in the Army. It was during that time that he met Eva who later became his wife; he and Eva would be married on January 16th, 1945 in Falher. Jos and Eva eventually sold part of their land to their son Gilbert and kept the home quarter. In 1983, Jos stricken with cancer, had a surgical operation and some radiation. After another operation and more investigation, the doctor told him there was little more to be done. Jos passed away on March 27th, 1985 at the age of 75 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He is buried in the Guy cemetery.
