Born near Weyburn, SK on October 6th, 1917. passed away on January 24th, 1995 at age 77; buried in the Grande Prairie Cemetery.
Lloyd arrived in Grande Prairie in 1933 at the age of 16 and worked as a hired man for lumber camps and farmers for several years. Lloyd served in Holland in World War II from 1942 to 1945. Upon his return he worked for various farmers, mainly I.V. Macklin. He married Margarette Pickering. He took up land under the Veteran’s Land Act in the Hermit Lake district, in 1947. The land they purchased was owned by Mrs. Mead of Liverpool whose husband was killed in World War I. They sold in 1975 due to Lloyd’s bad health and moved to Grande Prairie.
