There is mention of a banquet thrown for returning soldiers put on by the Postmasters Association held at the Clairmont Hotel in 1945, honouring the men who have returned from war. Nels Jacobson was mentioned as one of the honorees. He is listed in those who volunteered to join the armed forces.
