Harvey Gordon was the second child of Jim and Clara (King) Gordon. Jim from Ireland, and Clara from Quebec, were married in 1917 and lived on a homestead in Clandonald AB where their 5 children were born: Iola, Harvey, Gerald, Benny, and Donald. In 1983 they packed up all their belongings including horses and goat, into two wagons and headed to the Peace River Country. Over the winter they stayed in Joussard, and in spring 1939 Jim filed on a homestead in New Fish Creek. The boys were taught by their older sister, Iola, since there was no school yet. Gerald married during WW II in June 1943. In 1952 his wife tragically drowns. In the newspaper in 1953 there is reference about Harvey as the town clerk. (?)
