Arthur was born ca. 1899/1900 in London. It is possible that he served in the British Army. On January 19, 1926, he married Mary in Saskatchewan. That spring, they traveled to the DeBolt area where Arthur filed on SE 10-72-1-W6 and NE 3-72-1-W6. They had a son, Teddy, who tragically died in early childhood, and three daughters: Rosemary, Laura, and Betty. In June of 1935, a flood swept away their home. The Tomlin family moved to England that fall to take over Arthur’s father’s business.
