Hugh Reber was born in Lougheed Alberta on January 1, 1919. When Hugh was about a year old his family moved to Rosalind. On October 25, 1937 the family moved to the Peace River country. In the spring of 1938 they came to Eaglesham.
He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada, England, and Northwest Europe during World War II. Hugh was a member of Eaglesham Legion Branch 235.
Hugh married Ruth Roth in 1966. They farmed west of Eaglesham until they retired in 1979 and moved to Grande Prairie. Hugh died on September 13, 2000 at the age of 82.
