Alex Pandachuck was born to Nicolas and Eugenia Pandachuck in Regina in 1924. In 1928 the family moved to the Elmworth district where they farmed.
In 1942, Alex joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and in the spring on 1944 was posted overseas in England. He completed 32 operations as a mid-upper gunner in Halifax bombers.
Alex met and married his wife, Margaret, while in England. When they returned from overseas in 1946, they moved to Elmworth and took up farming. Alex also drove a school bus.
