Clarence Kiever came to the Beaverlodge area from Chatham, ON around 1924 with his two brothers – Bill and Reg. They took land west of the Rio Grande where their first living quarters were a sod shack built like a Teepee. There is mention of him serving in World War I as well. There is mention of a Clarence Avendale Kiever as being one of the recruits that joined the Army in an article from April 4th, 1940, Northern Tribune, under the Elmsworth news section, it mentions a marriage between Clarence Keiver (misspelled in newspaper article) and Eleanor Hannah Hagen on June 21st of 1937.
