The
Grande Prairie Public Library was established in 1939. The Library is operated by the City
of Grande Prairie and "promotes and provides library materials and services that meet
the educational, cultural, informational and recreational needs of the people of Grande
Prairie." Much of their original collection came from the personal collection of
local businessman Charles Spencer.
